Family Mobility Service Member - AmeriCorps Program

Description of Duties

AmeriCorps Member Position Assigned Service Activities: 

  • Service members will assist with the planning, organizing & execution of programming that will assist with increasing employability, financial literacy and housing opportunities for those in need. 
  • Provide positive impact of financial literacy services for economically disadvantaged individuals 
  • Find positive outcomes for community members who were supported by AmeriCorps programs as they transition into quality affordable housing 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

Reporting to service as scheduled 

  • Submitting timesheet weekly for biweekly payroll 
  • Completing all required training courses 
  • Providing support to the Program Director in regard to creating programming opportunities for the community 
  • Reporting and tracking data from all events and encounters with community members 
  • Will conduct workshops and activities for community members 

 

Non-Essential Functions 

  • Add to the positive environment in which we serve in 
  • Attending training courses 
  • Reporting to service on time and in proper uniform 
  • Remaining open to learning new skills that will help the community

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Certify that they have or will obtain the diploma/GED to be in accordance with the PD manual requirements 
  • Be 17 years or older at the start of service (no upper age limit) 
  • Pass a national service criminal history check
  • Hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US national, or Lawful Permanent Resident  

Preferred Skills and Qualifications 

  • Must have a medium to high level of comfortability with using Microsoft Office 
  • General office skills (answering phone calls from the community, filing, being organized, etc.) 
  • Ability to learn a new skill, assist with completing tasks and serving the community 

Schedule 

Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00 p.m., and some Saturdays for events and CFI Community Events 

Training First week of service, approx. 35 hours and once a month as scheduled by the Program Director
